The Fairfield softball team won both games of a doubleheader against Georgetown today.
The day started off shaky, as Georgetown's #1 pitcher stymied the Stags' offense, allowing only one run through the first six innings. The Stags managed to take back the game in the seventh with a rally started by Jessica Stand '10. The game ended at 4-3.
Keeping up the momentum in game two, Julia Jacoby '08 slammed a triple to start off the first inning. In her first full game pitching as a Stag, Jen Gilbert '10 allowed only four hits. Fairfield took home the game with a score of 5-0.
The Stags face off against Siena on Tuesday.
