Picked up this note from old pal/boss Ben Doody and his college basketball blog for the Trentonian: Jimmy Patsos and Loyola (Md.) are representing the MAAC in the Preseason NIT field, which was announced earlier this morning.
The Greyhounds stay in the northeast and play Boston College at Chestnut Hill on November 17th.
Cooley must be enthralled with this one.
But let's give credit where credit is due. Patsos turned literally built the Loyola program out of nothing, and has now received preseason props in back-to-back years (remember that Sports Illustrated Patsos as a mid-major coach to keep an eye on). All this without a berth in the Big Dance.
