The softball team took a one-two punch knockout yesterday from Providence, losing 9-0 and 10-3.
In the first game, the Stags posted only three hits against Providence pitcher Sara Surosky's unstoppable pitching. Fairfield let up eleven hits over the course of five innings.
Things improved somewhat in the second game, as the Stags came out hard and Meghan Borst '10, Kristie Trifiolis '10 and Erin Frank '08 worked together and managed to bring in one run. The team managed two more in the fourth, but couldn't stop the Providence juggernaut.
