Jamelle Elliott, an assistant coach under Geno Auriemma at UConn was on campus today with Fairfield Athletic Director Gene Doris. The two were seen in the campus center as Doris gave Elliott a tour of the school.
As previously reported by the Hartford Courant, Elliott was on campus to interview for the women's head basketball job, that was vacated when Dianne Nolan stepped down on March 20.
Elliott has been involved with UConn women's basketball for the past 15 years, including four as a player. In 1995 she was a member of the Huskies team that went 35-0.
She has helped coach post players at UConn under Auriemma, one of the top coaches in the nation. As both a player and a coach she has helped build UConn into one of the top women's basketball programs in the country.
