The strangest thing I've ever seen at a basketball game

This one tops that time two years ago when a fire alarm went off in the middle of the Fairfield-Rider men's game and everyone in attendance, including Manute Bol had to vacate the building...

With 10 seconds left in the Iona-Manhattan women's game and the Gaels ahead 55-53, Tiara Headen was at the line shooting the first of two free-throws when an ear-piercing alarm went off.

Fot some reason, Headen decided to shoot the first free throw anyway instead of wating for someone to turn the alarm off, and missed it.

That's when it got interesting.

I've never seen this before, but the officials met at half court and decided to give her a do-over. She made both free throws, putting the Gaels on top 57-53. They went on to win 59-55, so it's unlikely the shot made any difference.

Still though, the first mulligan this reporter has seen in a basketball game at any level.
