Halftime Report: Marist 37, Fairfield 21

The women's basketball team has continued their streak of poor starts. Their past two games (both losses), the Stags found themselves down in the first half, only to rally in the 2nd and fall just short of a win.

Fairfield is shooting only 25% from the floor while allowing Marist to shoot 56%. The Stags' two leading scorers, junior guards Meka Werts and Sabra Wrice have a combined 3 points.

Sophomore forward Baendu Lowenthal leads the team with 6 points. However, under constant pressure from the Red Foxes, she also has five turnovers, contributing to Fairfield's 12 in the first half. Megan Caskin '09 has another four as well.

Coming into the second half the Stags are going to have to get improved play from their guards if Marist continues to play tought in the paint.

Fairfield was nearly able to comeback the past two games, will this be the one that they finally put it together and finish it out?
